Beauty Is All Around

So I went scouting for a photo shoot location today. Drove through the oil fields and then ended up in Hart Park just outside of Bakersfield and I am still just astounded at how beautiful the park is now. I remember when it was completely full trash and the homeless. It is absolutely beautiful now. And another thing I found today was there is a peacock farm or something of the like on the property at the park! There were tons of them! And they were incredibly beautiful! Here are some of what I snapped today!

Some Of The Greats.

I've got a pond in my backyard with a fountain and when the water flows into the pond from the fountain there is a few seconds of bubbles that form. I would sit aside the pond for a very long time and just snap repeatedly. I got a lot of great photos of bubbles, but this is my favorite.

Taken at a local park while spending time with a bunch of friends.

Exposition Park, Los Angeles, Ca I have found that I love to photograph tree. Mainly leafless or dead trees, but I love trees.

Exposition Park, Los Angeles, Ca I fell in love with these trees!

This is one of my favorites. Taken at the Nethercutt Museum near Los Angeles this is leading up the stairway to the music room of the museum.

The Start Of Something Great.

Ok, so a lot of my friends and family have been asking me to start a photography blog and I would certainly have to agree with them! So since not everyone who looks at this will know about myself I'll tell you a little bit. I bought my first camera in November 2009 at a day after Thanksgiving Day sale at Target. I had started going to a lot of concerts and was absolutely sick of using the camera on my cell phone. So my first camera was a Nikon Coolpix S230 and I loved that camera dearly. I took pictures practically every single day and was starting to get more and more creative with my photographs. I took my camera with me everywhere I went and took photographs of pretty much everything. First time I fell in love with photography was when I went to Morro Bay, Ca to visit one of my best friends, Jenny. We were being the dumb twenty somethings that we are, and decided to stalk around the Cayucus Cemetery, after it closed, in the middle of the night. Well, needless to say there was truly amazing statues on many of headstones and I started snapping...over and over. The next day we went back to see everything in light and I did the same thing. My friend was all bored, but I was in Heaven, in that cemetery, taking photographs. She practically had to pull me away so we could finally drive to Cambria, Ca and I noticed they also had a cemetery, an old one at that. Well, we both hiked up the mountain to get to it and again I was snapping photos like crazy. I left my two day trip feeling energized and happy with a new hobby which later turned into my passion.

Moving on almost an entire year later my camera started to give out due to excessive use and I was in desperate need of a new camera. I was still using my Nikon but I was getting very frustrated with the problems and limitations I was having. So, in October 2010 I had a photo shoot with a lot of my cousins planned and was terrified my camera was going to just stop working. I was searching and scouring the internet looking for a great camera I could afford and was an immense upgrade. I finally found a camera I could "afford" (with making payments to my mom...) and upgraded tenfold. I definitely could not afford a DSLR...even though I want one desperately. But found a great alternative. I bought the Canon Powershot SX30 IS. I got my Canon a couple of weeks before the photo shoot and and used it as much as possible so I would know my camera and be able to best utilize my talent along with the great features on my camera. Well, I did the photo shoot and it was a complete success! Although I had never actually done a photo shoot and have never had to coach anyone to pose AND I have never really worked with children in this way I was astounded by the results. At that moment I knew this was my passion and this is what made me want to get up to conquer the day. I love capturing moments others very well miss or won't remember. I love the fact that I am capturing a moment in time and it will be remembered for as long as that photograph is around. I love that I have found a way to give memories. I love the fact that those memories are beautiful. I love that having a camera in my hands give me peace and I love the fact that I feel like I was meant to capture memories.

Thanks for reading and I hope you love the photographs as much as I do.
